Fitness & Exercise
Exercise and fitness is not an exclusive club for the athlete, Olympian, or super model. It is more a healthy state of mind that everyone should partake in regularly. Each of us has our own definition of personal fitness.
We now know that when it comes to physical activity, little things can make a big difference.
Three of the primary areas
- Aerobic or cardio-respiratory activities
- Resistance or anaerobic training activities
- Flexibility training.
Cardiorespiratory/Aerobic Exercise – The essential element of personal health is the ability of the heart and circulatory system to get oxygenated blood delivered throughout the body. The better you can accomplish this task the longer and most likely, happier you will live.
Muscle Conditioning – Often thought of as only for bodybuilders or only for men, this form of exercise is essential to everyone from our earlier years in youth through our senior years of life. Besides the fact that a muscularly body may look pleasing and can make many tasks easier today, maintaining good musculoskeletal function can also slow muscle deterioration and assist you in maintaining bone density through later years.
Flexibility Training – With increased flexibility you will gain improvements in posture, joint range of motion, and release muscle tension and soreness that can be associated with the previous two exercise modalities. Stretching is also a way for the body to relax, unwind, and decompose after a good exercise session.
